Annual Shareholder's Meeting

The following questions were asked during the annual shareholder's meeting.  Cliff Fasnacht;s comments and responses are as follows:

Question:
  • How does the ratio of number of wells required scale to number of users?
Response:
  • 15 or more connections requires 2 or more wells.

Question:
  • How do we get more water?
Response:
  • The filtration system is our restriction.  We can put 2 more filters in our current pump house which will double production.  Well #2 is limited to 30gpm because of the well capacity.  If we were to construct a new well with better capacity, we might not need to increase filters as much.

Question:
  • How would you suggest that BRMWC prioritize the work that needs to be done to provide water to the residents?
Response:
  • Priority #1 - drill a new 2nd well, Priority #2 - Resolve compliance issues, Priority #3 - upgrade filtration system

Question:
  • How can we best resolve the arsenic issue in well #2?
Response:
  • The only potential way to possibly change the result would be to take the well offline and clean it.  But we have no backup well, so we would have to investigate using well #1 as a backup.

Question:
  • Should we look into "smart meters" so that we can monitor daily use which can be useful when we're in reduced use (water limitations)
Response:
  • Not enough ROI to justify smart meters for BRMWC

Question:
  • Why is well #1 offline?
Response:
  • Due to microbial levels and a cracked casing which allowed contamination to seep into the well.

Question:
  • What is Dougherty's recommendation for well #1?
Response:
  • Not salvageable.  Drill a new well away from the current location.

Question:
  • If we drill a new well, will we have to go through the easement process?
Response:
  • Yes, permits and environmental impact would be a consideration for approval.

Question:
  • Do we need 2 wells?
Response:
  • Yes, it's a requirement from the state based on number of connections
