IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
Este informe contiene información muy importante sobre su agua potable.

Best Road Mutual Water Company Has Levels of Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (Five) (HAA5) Above the Drinking Water Standard

Our water system recently violated a drinking water standard. Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what you should do, what happened, and what we did to correct this situation.
We routinely monitor for the presence of drinking water contaminants. Compliance for total trihalomethanes (TTHM) and haloacetic acids five (HAA5) is determined by a locational running annual average (LRAA) of quarterly sample results taken from our distribution system sample.
Water sample results received on December 1, 2017 showed TTHM levels of 0.0040 mg/L for a LRAA of 0.075 mg/L. This is now below the standard or maximum contaminant level (MCL), of 0.080 mg/L.
Water sample results received on December 1, 2017 showed HAA5 levels of 0.003 mg/L for a LRAA of 0.13 mg/L.  This is above the standard MCL, of 0.060 mg/L.
What should I do?
  • You do not need to use an alternative water supply (e.g., bottled water).
  • This is not an emergency. If it had been, you would have been notified immediately. However, some people who drink water containing trihalomethanes in excess of the MCL over many years may experience liver, kidney, or central nervous system problems, and may have an increased risk of getting cancer. Some people who drink water containing haloacetic acids in excess of the MCL over many years may have an increased risk of getting cancer. If you have other health issues concerning consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor.
TTHM and HAA5 are byproducts of chlorine in the system.
We are continuously monitoring the situation. The chlorinator has been turned off. We anticipate resolving the problem within 6 months.
